DUNCANMEC skip units are based on the latest overseas developments and technology but are designed to adapt to our local conditions.
DESIGN FEATURES
The unit is manufactured from high tensile impact resistant steel. The lifting arms are connected at their base by a torsion shaft, thus eliminating the need for a top arm crossbeam, which in turn allows stacking of bins to the maximum legal height. Containers up to 19m³ can be handled with this unit.
Lift cylinders are mounted out board of the load deck for ease of maintenance and maximum protection from swinging bins.
All shafts and pivot pins are fitted with replaceable vesconite bearings that require minimum lubrication and perform well even in the dirtiest conditions. Inward folding rear jack links – traditionally these links fold outwards – by reversing this, we are able to protect the vulnerable jack link cylinders from damage when reversing into loading areas. Even when fully extended, the cylinder rods are enclosed both from the rear and sides by the jack link.
All hydraulic cylinders are supplied with fluid through load protecting safety valves, which prevent them from collapsing in the event of a hydraulic system failure. The hydraulic system is further protected by an oil reservoir suction filter and an inline return filter.
